This is a brief preview of a first round NCAA tournament game.
12:30 p.m. ET, Friday
The Tigers don't play the toughest of schedules in Conference USA, where they went 16-0. And in nonconference play, they lost to Georgia Tech and Tennessee but handily beat Kentucky. With its strength of schedule, Memphis might be a suspect No. 2 seed, but it should be fine against North Texas. The Sun Belt tournament champion finished third in its division of the conference in the regular season and never looked like an NCAA contender until the tournament.
Beware when weighing C-USA teams. The league ranked a lowly 11th in conference RPI, but John Calipari's crew wins in a walk.
