Memphis Head Coach John Calipari
"Well, we played pretty good. We played a good game. Sometimes you get up 30 and you don't want to do anything, but I'm worried about my team playing a full game. I thought we did. I even liked those last four minutes when we put those guys in a 2-3 zone and said, `Play.'"
"We didn't play anybody for more than 25 minutes. We played everybody around 20 minutes. We had a little foul trouble in the first half with Joey (Dorsey) and Robert (Dozier), but we played well anyway."
"Antonio Anderson didn't play tonight, but we did really well passing the ball to each other with 17 assists. Willie Kemp had four assists and no turnovers. We had 14 steals. You know, it was good stuff. I think the biggest thing was whoever we had out there, we were good defensively."
Tulane Head Coach Dave Dickerson
"We were playing our best basketball before this game. We came in here winning three of four games, averaging 81 points per game and still having one of the best defenses in the conference. We ran into a team that was better and had better players."
"They have one of the best defenses in the conference, and that was a focus coming in. We just couldn't get anything going offensively. I felt we could score the ball at least, and when we couldn't score or make free throws, the game got away from us."
"It's our 21st game of the year. You would think that our two leading scorers would come out and play with the mentality of being the leading scorers on the team. I'm a little surprised that they didn't do it. I'm more surprised at the way our team competed tonight."
