The University of Memphis basketball program got its second commitment from the Class of 2007 late Wednesday when New Jersey wing Jeff Robinson committed to the school, according to a source close to the program. A 6-6 athlete, Robinson narrowed his choices to Memphis, Connecticut, Indiana and Miami last week. But ultimately he chose the Tigers, who have made him a priority all summer on the AAU circuit.
Robinson is a borderline Top 100 prospect by most recruiting services. He's readily described as the type of run-and-jump recruit who will fit nicely into the UofM's up-and-down, high-pressure style of play. Will Bogan, a center from Missouri, is the Tigers' other current Class of 2007 pledge. Additional targets moving forward are Illinois point guard Derrick Rose, Texas forward Anthony Randolph, Ohio forward Alex Tyus and Raleigh-Egypt High point guard Maurice Miller, among others.
