Testing the NBA waters......Georgia Tech's Favors, UAB's Millsaps and Ole Miss' (Memphis-native) Terrico White

ATLANTA — Derrick Favors is leaving Georgia Tech after only one season to enter the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-10-inch freshman forward is projected as a top-five pick.

Favors becomes the team's second key player to leave school early, following junior forward Gani Lawal.

Favors was ACC rookie of the year after ranking second on the team in scoring (12.4) and rebounds (8.4).

Other underclassmen entering the draft:

• UAB junior guard Elijah Millsap, who led Conference USA in rebounding (9.5) and was second in scoring (16.1). The brother of Utah Jazz player Paul Millsap has not hired an agent.

• Nevada guard Armon Johnson said he plans to hire an agent. He averaged 14.3 points.

• Virginia Commonwealth forward Larry Sanders, who plans to hire an agent. He averaged 14.4 points and 9.1 rebounds.

• Mississippi shooting guard Terrico White, who hasn't hired an agent. He averaged 15.1 points and 4.6 rebounds.
